NDC SM Fayez Uddin at Gaibandha District Administration Office started the eviction drive of illegal structures on the banks of the old Ghaghat river adjacent to Aquarstate Para in the city at 9 am on the initiative of district administration and in collaboration with Local Government Engineering Department LGED. The LGED workers of the operation started demolishing the illegal installations by keeping the area marked with a hammer. Gaibandha LGED Executive Engineer Ahsan Kabir, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Md. Abdur Rafiul Alam, Sadar Upazila LGED Engineer Abul Kalam Azad Mollah and many others were present. About 25 multi-story buildings and houses were evicted on eviction charges. Earlier, after completing the survey work of the rivers, demarcation of the boundaries, and preparation of a list of illegal occupants, a notice was issued to voluntarily remove their illegal establishments. Gaibandha District Administration Office NDC MM Fayez Uddin said the illegal establishments in the river are being evicted. Installations falling within 30 feet of the river bank are being evicted.
